Who was andy Warhol?
Andy Warhol was born on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania He was into a wide variety of art forms which included art performances, filmmaking, video installations and writings. He was also a mentor to artists two different artists which are Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
On February 22, 1987, he died in New York City.
He was an iconic American pop artist, filmmaker, and graphic designer, he ignored the boundaries between art and advertising. He never felt apologetic about his homosexuality and often produced erotic photography and male nudes. His work was heavily influenced by gay underground cultures.
<<The Church Andy Warhol loved did not and does not teach that it is a sin to be gay, to carry with oneself same-sex attraction. The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual actions are detrimental to the human person, and thus sinful. For Andy Warhol to be openly gay (he mentions he’d “always had a lot of fun with that ,just watching the expression on people’s faces”) and at the same time intentionally celibate seems to represent a certain peace about the man, an intellectual separation of the sinless same-sex attraction and the sinful homosexual action, and an effort at communion with the teachings of the Catholic Church. If it is sinful from the Catholic perspective, it is only sinful in that he may have lead others astray, those who did not know of his intentional celibacy.>>

My opinion
There is three reasons to why I chose Andy Warhol, the first is that until now, even if I knew who he was and I had studied him in art, never had I known that he was gay. Second, even if he was homosexual, he was still able to be christian just like every other heterosexual. And for third, he openly admitted his homosexuality, it never bothered him to know that other people knew that he was homosexual. For him, homosexuality wasn’t the act of having sex with another man, but actually loving someone of the same sex.
