Rock Hudson was born on November 17, 1925, in Winnetka, Illinois. He began his career as a handsome artist who was widely known for his good looks. Critics and comments acknowledged his acting talent in Giant (1956), which also starred heavy-hitters Elizabeth Taylor and James Dean. He co-starred with Doris Day in many hit films, including Pillow Talk (1959), Lover Come Back (1961) and Send Me No Flowers (1964).
He was diagnosed with AIDS in 1984 and the next year, he became one of the first few celebrities to announce both that he was homosexual and his AIDS diagnosis. Yet, before that there had already been rumors about him being gay, especially after his talk with his wife where she asked him if he was gay.
