Who am i?
My name is Charlotte, I'm currently 15 and I'm in 10th grade. I am french, I was born in Nice in the South of France. I have lived in a total of 5 different countries which includes Beijing, China; Casablanca, Morocco; Johannesburg, South Africa; Chennai, India; and I now live in Paris, France. I think that living surrounded by different environments, different cultures and different religions have opened my views on many things. I also grew up in an International school where I was taught to respect other people's culture and beliefs, but also to understand them. One thing I always try to keep in mind which involved my project as well, is not to judge if I don't understand clearly what I'm judging.
Why did I chose homosexuality?
The reason I chose my personal project to be on homosexuality is because I didn't understand what it meant to be homosexual and that some people around the world probably didn't understand it either, but still gave their opinions without trying to understand. This is why I decided learn more about it and develop a proper opinion on the way, but also share what I learnt, which resources I used and so on. Yet, that isn't the only way that brought homosexuality as a topic for my personal project to my mind. I was first interested in family conflicts which included alcoholic parents or children, teen pregnancy leading to abortion, adoption... and homosexuality. It then came clear to my mind that I wasn't going to be able to make a fully understandable project out of so many topics, so I decided to choose one which I would be able to fully concentrate on. That is when I chose homosexuality because it has been going on for a very long time where there were protests about gay rights and gay marriage, but not all countries agreed to accept there terms while others did. I also thought that it would be interesting to find out more about something that so many people agree on and others who disagree.
